Meet the Team

Hi everyone, Clarissa here. We hope you've been enjoying the new site and are coming back often to see what’s new. You’ll want to be sure to make to flag You’re the Cure as one of your favorite sites and come to the Pulse often. The Pulse is our blog to keep advocates informed of the latest successes, calls to actions, news you can use, and advocate stories. There is so much to share you’ll be hearing from several different blog authors when you visit the site. That’s why I wanted to introduce you to the national grassroots team. From left to right:

Katie Taylor – Katie is our Federal Grassroots Manager and has been with the American Heart Association for nearly 7 years.  As an avid runner with a family history of cardiovascular disease, she has a passion for prevention.  She’ll keep you up to date on important heart and stroke-related advocacy news and let you know about key opportunities to act on legislation moving in Congress.

Mark Fisher – As our newest member of the team, Mark has been with the American Heart Association for about one year. He will be profiling our amazing advocates and volunteers from across the country as well and keeping you informed about AHA positions on timely topics.

Amy Shope Manzi – Amy is a longtime public health advocate and has enjoyed working with the American Heart Association for the last 5 years. As our in-house Grassroots Consultant, she helps advocacy staff around the country build and maintain strong volunteer programs. On this blog, Amy will be sharing tips for being an even more effective advocate and highlighting the great work of You’re the Cure in all the states.

We look forward to bringing you regular updates from You're the Cure.
