One day, while out walking with her son Justin, the pain got intense and he said “Mom, that’s not heartburn. You need to go back to the doctor.” A day later, Maddie received the treatment she needed to place a stent and remove the 90% blockage in her heart often referred to as the “widow-maker”.

Maddie shares her story and wears red to spread awareness of heart disease in women – the leading health threat to women.  Her message is simple, “Heart disease can happen to anyone. We all need to take the time to know the symptoms of heart disease and take care of our hearts. It could save your life, like it did mine.”
