Louisa has dedicated many years to the work of the AHA/ASA, including being a founding Chair of the Circle of Red in Southern Delaware, a member of the Southern Delaware Board of Directors, Chair of the Delaware Policy and Advocacy Committee and the Southern Delaware Heart Walk Chair.

In addition, Louisa has joined American Heart Association/American Stroke Association staff and volunteers at Legislative Hall and on Capitol Hill on numerous occasions to advocate for health policies. She has been instrumental in advocating for tobacco control policies, including revising Delaware’s landmark Clean Indoor Air Law to include vaping products and e-cigarettes.  Louisa also provided invaluable counsel and advice in work leading up to the passage of the Delaware Stroke Bill.

As Chair of the DE Policy and Advocacy Committee, Louisa consistently works to recruit top-notch members to join us in our work. She is masterful at mentoring, recruiting, and building effective teams, and her skills have contributed to advancing the mission of the American Heart Association/American Stroke Association for more than a decade.

Beyond her outstanding service to the AHA/ASA, Louisa is extremely proud of her service as a Founder, Post Grant Review Chair and Board Member of the Delaware Fund for Women. We can't thank you enough, Louisa, for the work you do to improve health across the First State!
