Looking Ahead to 2024 in California

As we look toward 2024, it is the second year of a two-year session. There are a number of key legislative races in California in 2024, including the Governor, the state Assembly, some Senate seats as well as elections for United States Senate and some United States Congressional seats.

In addition to some high-profile elections, the legislature is facing a significant budget deficit. Some estimate a $68 billion dollar estimate. This will of course impact the way all legislative proposals are viewed.

The AHA is finalizing our legislative agenda, with a focus on ensuring schools our schools are prepared in the event someone has a sudden cardiac arrest, workplaces are free from exposure to secondhand smoke and access to healthcare for both preventing and treating heart disease and stroke.

It should be a busy and exciting year for AHA!
