Looking ahead to 2021 and we want to hear from you

Earlier this fall the Idaho Legislature convened for a special session, something that is incredibly rare in Idaho, and while it only lasted 3 days we were watching closely to see if we could get any indication on how things will go when they gather for the 2021 session.

It was an intense three days, but lessons were learned, and we are hoping that means the 2021 legislative session will be productive. We expect the Governor and Legislative leadership to decide if the 2021 legislative session will be virtual or not soon. Either way we will keep you informed and provide opportunities for your voice to be heard.

We anticipate the state will face some tough decisions in 2021 due to COVID-19.  We know lawmakers will be facing difficult choices, and we hope with your help we can continue advocating for important health issues including:

  1. Tobacco and e-cigarette control issues.
  2. Protecting full funding for the Medicaid program.
  3. Active transportation options and connected communities (these are similar to the Safe Routes to School and Complete Streets programs we have worked on in the past).

As we do our planning for next year, we would like to hear from you about the issues you care about and how you would like to be involved. Please take a few minutes and answer our short (only 8 question) survey.

Thank you for your support. We look forward to working together to build a healthier Idaho.
