Let Freedom Ring!

You have the power! The power of your voice in shaping government is a huge and beautiful part of what it means to be an American.  Using your power to forward the policies you believe in is what advocacy is all about.  We, the people, have the right to express our opinions, and to tell our lawmakers how we want things run.

The You’re the Cure network exists because of the great democracy we have in this country, and the need to improve policy relating to cardiovascular disease (CVD) and stroke.  Our collective voices across the country have given rise to many changes that touch those who live in our communities….changes like smoke-free air to breathe, more people trained in life-saving CPR, and screening for babies born with heart defects, to name a few.

You’re the Cure Advocate Michelle Nostheide says “I am so excited and gratified to see that what we are doing to move CVD policy actually works.  We are changing laws and saving lives.”

We are far from done.  With the 2013 General Assembly session behind us, we celebrate our successes and prepare to tackle issues still needing attention that we will bring forward in the 2014 session.

Thank you for being there with us and letting your voice ring out to support our mission.  Together we are a force to be reckoned with and a shining example of Democracy in action.
