Let's meet in Wells and have a great time.

Hello there Southern Maine Advocates.  I want to meet you in person and I discovered the perfect venue.

There is a Go Red for Women York event on October 18th at the Coastal House in Wells. It is part education, part auction, part awards and (I have been promised) totally fun.  I will be there wearing something from my growing red wardrobe and I hope you will be too.  The event is about women’s heart health—but is open to everyone with a woman in their life.
Here are the details:

The Go Red for Women York Event will take place on October 18th at the Coastal House in Wells from 4-8 and begins with a silent auction and heart health screenings. At 5:00, two educational breakout sessions will be offered. The dinner program starts at 6:15 with this year’s Chair, Patsy Aprile from Goodall Hospital and featuring this year’s survivor speaker, Louise Beaulieu from Southern Maine Medical Center, who will share her story.

Joan Gordon, the Executive Director of the Biddeford Free Clinic, will be receiving the American Heart Association’s 2012 Crystal Heart Award which is presented each year to a local woman who has made a positive impact in her community. Congratulations Joan!

The Go Red for Women York Event takes a critical step toward raising women’s awareness that heart disease is their number-one cause of death.  I will be talking to folks about the American Heart Association’s upcoming policy agenda and meeting as many of you as I can. To learn more or to purchase a ticket, please visit the event website at heart.org/goredyorkmaine or call 207.879.5700.

I hope to see you there!
