The 2021 legislative session is moving quickly and a bill that would stop the Utah Department of Health from addressing the youth e-cigarette/vaping crisis is expected to be voted on in the Senate any day. We are very worried that if we don’t stop it here, we won’t be able to and so we are asking for your help!
Email your Senator and ask them to vote NO on this bad piece of legislation!
Data collected last year showed that over 81,000 students in Utah were addicted to nicotine and vaping is largely to blame. This bill would stop the state Department of Health from regulating the amount of nicotine in these products as they were instructed to do during last year’s legislative session. It would keep nicotine content at a level that is three times the level of nicotine we see in traditional tobacco cigarettes. These products are highly addictive and the higher the nicotine the quicker users become addicted.
