Laurie Stephenson is a mother of three, a fitness instructor, a congenital heart disease survivor, a Board member and Advocacy Committee Vice Chair for the American Heart Association, a member of her school district wellness committee, and (in her spare time) - a passionate, dedicated and persistent advocate who is inspiring change at the State House!
We would like to extend our sincere thanks to Laurie for everything she does to support and promote the lifesaving mission of the American Heart Association. Laurie has spent countless hours at the State House testifying on bills, meeting with lawmakers and attending Lobby Days. Earlier this month Laurie attended a hearing on our healthy school marketing bill - an issue that she has worked on for three years. It was exciting to sit in the room with her as our primary opposition shifted their position and testified in support of the bill. All of the dialogue, negotiation and persistence paid off and we are one step closer to celebrating victory together!
Our success would not be possible without You're the Cure advocates like Laurie - and YOU!. Thank you from the entire AHA team!
