Louisiana Celebrates Two Policy Successes!

What we eat and drink impacts our health, but we tend to eat what is easily available. To help children and families eat healthy and decrease their risk for heart disease and diabetes, the American Heart Association aims to make healthy food and beverages available in public places.

Last month, You’re the Cure advocates helped pass healthy vending standards at state-owned properties as well as at Jefferson Parish-owned buildings and facilities. This is great news considering the state is ranked as the least healthy in the nation by America’s Health Rankings annual report on public health.
