When it comes to raising awareness about congenital heart defects, Katie Towle is top notch!

As the mom of six-year-old Jack who was born with a heart defect, Katie has championed the need for pulse oximetry screening so all parents would know right away if their child had a heart defect.

She also started Cardiac Kids, a parent support group that can connect with each other about their children's health and also have fun!

In recent years, Katie has organized Cardiac Kids' Night at the Lake Monsters Baseball games. This year's event was held August 18th without little heart survivors hitting the field with the red capes on.

Families with children with congenital heart defects can also enjoy another event Katie organizes. Breakfast with Santa is slated for Sunday, December 9th. If you'd like to get connected with Katie and Cardiac Kids, email [email protected].
