Jason is a Physical Education teacher and athletic coach at North Attleboro Middle School and has been leading the efforts for the Hoops to Heart Celebration for 20 years. Since the start of the event they have reached over $1.1 million and have been the top Hoops for Heart fundraiser in the State for the 17 years in a row and a National Champion for 15 years in a row with almost 12,000 students have participated, the event is one of the premier events in the country thanks to Jason dedication and passion. Jason has also served on many of our boards and committees including the Founders Affiliate Board, the Greater Boston Board and the MA Advocacy Advisory Committee. Jason has shared his expertise as both a PE teacher and a coach for many of our policy priorities and has testified and shared his experiences with the State Legislature on our Quality Physical Education Language multiple times. Jason has also come and participated in our State Lobby Days. Having Jason share his story has swayed many legislators on the importance of PE and especially why waivers, especially for sports, should not be allowed. He demonstrates the need to teach the lifelong physical fitness. For Jason, his volunteering is the Heart of the Matter.
