Indy Mission Bus Tour

The American Heart Association is making an impact in companies and neighborhoods throughout the city. From community gardens, to blood pressure checkpoints, to walkable streets, we are not only IN our community, but also OF our community.

On May 8, 2018 American Heart Association volunteers and advocates went on a guided bus tour to see the work we are doing to address health disparities and improve the health of our community.  On this tour passengers were able to see the positive impact we are making in our city.

Many of our supporters joined the inaugural Mission Impact Bus Tour. Along a 3-mile stretch of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. St. we celebrated the impact of our work - things like improved sidewalks, community gardens, school nutrition programs, hospital quality programs and CPR training - and we looked at the work still to be done - improved access to healthy foods, tobacco cessation and prevention. We ended our evening at the Sky Farm at Eskenazi Health.
