Today, August 28th, the City Council will hold a special meeting to consider ordinances to address youth tobacco use, including e-cigarettes in Boulder. Unfortunately, the tobacco industry is trying to weaken several of these proposals...
The rate of youth in Boulder County using nicotine products - especially e-cigarettes at 33% - is among the highest in the state and nation. The Boulder City Council is considering several, concrete steps to combat this epidemic, including raising the age of tobacco sales from 18 to 21, restricting the sale of flavored tobacco products, and putting a tobacco tax on the ballot for voters that will increase the price of cigarettes, e-cigarettes, and other tobacco products.
