Obesity Prevention – Encourage school districts to share recreational facilities with the community to promote activity. Provide greater liability protection to schools to encourage community use.
Obesity Prevention-Support policy that eliminates waivers and substitutions for physical education.
Obesity Prevention – Increase amount of physical education time and physical activity time in elementary, middle and high schools.
Obesity Prevention – Support significant increase in excise taxes on sugar sweetened beverages.
Health Care Access, Cost and Quality – Support development of protocols and rulemaking to require all birthing facilities to perform a pulse oximetry screening on every newborn prior to discharge.
Health Care Access, Cost and Quality- Support policies that would require Medicaid to cover cessation services for current tobacco users including both counseling and pharmacotherapy with no or minimal cost sharing.
Health Care Access, Cost and Quality- Support policies that would require coverage of all evidence based USPSTF A and B preventive services under Medicaid with no or minimal cost-sharing.
Tobacco -- Support tobacco control prevention and treatment programs. Restore funding for Vermont's tobacco trust fund.
Tobacco – Support significant increase in tobacco excise tax.
