Hawaii DOE Takes First Step Toward Training High School Students in CPR

AHA volunteer trainers provided CPR awareness training to Hawaii Dept. of Education resource teachers on Dec. 6 in preparation for those teachers to train Hawaii public high school health class teachers. The training will then be offered to students taking health classes. Thanks to Hawaii Dept. of Health funding, the DOE has committed to purchase CPR manikins and training materials to offer CPR training as part of its health class curriculum. This will result in thousands of students receiving the training annually, making our communities much safer.
