We will need your help over the coming months to ensure that this funding is included in the General Assembly’s final budget!
People who have parks or recreational facilities nearby exercise much more than those who do not have easy access – this can have an effect on obesity rates. Community-based physical activity interventions are cost-effective, reducing new cases of many chronic diseases and improving quality of life.
Significant funding for parks & recreation will support more livable and active communities for children, families and residents of the Ocean State! We hope you will join the American Heart Association in supporting this important proposal.
