In the final days of legislative session -- and before giving constituents an opportunity to weigh in -- Ohio lawmakers quickly pushed through an amendment on House Bill 513 that would have rolled back decades of progress in protecting Ohioans from tobacco use, and prevented our communities from being able to decide what's best for them.

Thankfully, You're the Cure advocates like you rallied and responded with more than 1,000 messages and phone calls to Governor DeWine in just a few days -- and he heard you.
We're excited to share that Governor DeWine just vetoed House Bill 513, allowing Ohio community leaders to continue to listen to the concerns of their citizens and act locally to address health issues like youth tobacco and vape use.
THANK YOU for raising your voice!
School districts protect our children, local governments protect our neighbors, and parks serve and protect residents, visitors and the environment. Local lawmakers innovate, implement and adopt local solutions for local problems. House Bill 513 would have removed these past, present and future protections.
Again, thank you for making a difference simply by speaking out!
With Heart,
Dustin Holfinger and Melissa Brown
