Last week saw two additional Go Red/Heart Month Events - The Columbus Go Red Luncheon and the Cleveland Go Red Luncheon. Both are fabulous events and another great venue to talk about advocacy work to improve the health women everywhere.
Thursday, Becky Gentile was volunteered to staff a booth at the Columbus event. She collected postcards to support SB 4, the Newborn Healthy Hearts bill. Thanks, Becky for your support!
On Friday, Cleveland hosted their 10th Go Red for Women luncheon. Several survivors from past events came back to update everyone on their stories. Corey Rossen was one of those speakers. Several years, Corey shared the story of his daughter and her congenital heart defect. This year, he not only updated everyone on his daughter, but shared news that his son was found to have a different congenital heart defect. (We are pleased to report both kids are doing great!) Corey and his family wanted to urge luncheon participants into action. He asked everyone to join him in signing a postcard to send a message to their Senator. More than 350 people responded!
Special thanks to Corey and his family for inspiring us to make a difference!
