Georgia Legislator Thank You Day at the Capitol!

Last week, thanks to our advocates talking with their legislators, we were victorious in two pieces of legislation failing to move forward. The first, SB 418, was a bill that would have limited the power of local governments to pass policies that could potentially make their communities healthier. The second, HB 877, proposed to cut taxes on tobacco products that were deemed to have "modified risk". The American Heart Association, our advocates, and many other organizations fought hard to make sure these bills did not pass. Now, we want to make sure each one of these legislators is thanked for their vote that ensured Georgia continues to build healthier communities.

Join us as we personally thank each of the legislators who made the bills' failure to pass a reality. We will meet at 10 am at the Martin Luther King Jr statue on the corner of Capitol Ave and Martin Luther King Jr. Dr. Hope you can join us for a morning of sharing gratitude with our Georgia legislators!
