Tobacco Endgame

We do everything we can to protect our loved ones, especially children, from the harms of tobacco and nicotine. But unfortunately, with many adolescents falsely believe that new tobacco products, such as e-cigarettes, are safe, we know many kids face real pressure to pick up this deadly habit.

That is why I am thrilled to share that the American Heart Association is working toward the goal of ending all tobacco and nicotine addiction in the US – something we are calling the tobacco endgame.

How will we achieve the tobacco endgame? First, by reducing the use of cigarettes, cigars, and cigarillos, while also ensuring that newer products, such as e-cigarettes, do not addict the next generation of youth.

We have an exciting opportunity right now at the Florida Legislature to reduce youth access to tobacco products, including e-cigarettes, by raising the state's minimum legal sale age from 18 to 21.

Will you join us in support of this effort?

Achieving the tobacco endgame won’t be easy, but it could save millions of lives. We need a strong commitment from advocates like you to push our elected officials to help make this happen! This vision is within sight, but we need help from Florida elected officials to make tobacco endgame a reality.

Thank you for all you do and let’s end tobacco and nicotine use once-and-for-all!
