Late last year, Congress passed the No Surprises Act, which was a historic first step to protect patients from financially crippling surprise medical bills. This was a monumental win for heart and stroke patients, who are more likely to be one of the more than 50% of Americans to receive a surprise medical bill. But, we need your help once again to ensure patients are protected from surprise medical bills.
As this bill has gone through the rule making process, special interest groups have attempted to weaken and delay the law, putting patients at risk of facing increased health care costs. These special interests tried to prevent the bill from being passed, but thanks to advocates like you, we won that round. Now, they’re putting their time (and lots of money) into weakening the law.
We must stand up for patients across the country by telling the Biden Administration and targeted members of Congress to stay strong and finish the job of protecting patients from financially crippling surprise medical bills.
In America, more than 10,000 people per day receive a surprise medical bill, but you can help ensure that changes come January 1st 2022 by quickly and easily sending letters and tweets of support.
