The American Heart Association is working to help ensure continued access to meaningful and affordable health care coverage.
We are the nation’s oldest and largest voluntary organization dedicated to building healthier lives free from heart disease and stroke – the two leading causes of death in the world. Today, one-third of all deaths in the U.S. are attributed to cardiovascular diseases and almost half of our population has at least one risk factor for heart disease or stroke. With the millions of individuals we serve having chronic disease, ensuring their health care coverage is critical to our mission. We encourage New Yorkers who lack health care coverage to enroll before the state deadline of January 31.
