Help Ensure the Entire Commonwealth is Protected from Tobacco Addiction & Disease!
Across our state, communities have made great strides to protect residents from tobacco by passing local policies.
At the moment:
• More than 160 communities have raised the sales age to for tobacco to 21
• More than 130 communities have banned the use of e-cigarettes in workplaces
• More than 150 communities do not allow pharmacies to sell tobacco products
Don’t you think it’s time for the whole state to be equally covered by these lifesaving policies? We think so! We believe that this legislation will reduce tobacco use and nicotine addiction among youth and will improve health, save lives, and reduce health care costs. Tobacco use remains the number one cause of premature death and preventable chronic disease across the state and country. We know that without prevention policies, 103,000 Massachusetts kids alive today will die from smoking related illnesses. We can do better.
