Florida Volunteers Needed

This summer, we're looking for advocates interested in serving on our Florida Advocacy Subcommittee.

Many different types of volunteers, from doctors to physical education teachers, comprise our committee and bring their expertise to shape and advance our policy agenda for one year.  They provide input on our policy goals as we determine which issues to address.  During legislative committee weeks, committee members speak with elected officials about our policies, write letters to the editor and help with our grassroots efforts and continue to do so throughout session.  When session ends members thank elected officials for their support and help begin planning for the next year.

The Florida Advocacy Subcommittee is essential for the American Heart Association to succeed in the legislative world.  If you would like to be involved in shaping and achieving our policies goals, contact David Francis, Government Relations Director, at [email protected].  There can be no substitute for volunteer action in the legislative process and with passionate, strong volunteers there is nothing we can't accomplish.
