Conquering CHD's 2021 Advocacy Conference

Originally founded as the Pediatric Congenital Heart Association, Conquering CHD is an organization made up entirely of CHD patients, families, and medical experts. If you have a special interest in congenital heart disease, check out their upcoming Advocacy Conference!

Conquering CHD knows that congenital heart disease is a lifelong journey for patients and their families. Congenital heart disease refers to the lifelong impact of being born with anomalies of the heart, whether structural or electrical. There is no cure for congenital heart disease. But there is hope! Thanks to new and better treatment, chances of surviving and thriving are better with the right care.

The 2021 Advocacy Conference will bring together patients and families, along with medical providers and federal policymakers, to educate members of Congress about congenital heart disease!  Our asks will include additional federal research funding and support for policies related to transparency, lifelong care and health disparities.

Activities include:

• A pre-Conference Health Disparities meeting.
• Training in Civics, the History of CHD on Capitol Hill, and How to Tell Your Story.
• Not to be missed game shows, skits, inspirational patient and family stories, and shout-outs from Legislators.
• Virtual meetings with the offices of your 2 Senators and 1 Representative.

Virtual advocacy programming and materials for junior advocates ages 5-12 will be available on Saturday, February 20th. Advocates ages 13+ are encouraged to attend the full virtual conference with a parent/guardian.
