What brought you to be an advocate for the American Heart Association?

The opportunity to work towards a better outcomes for my family and my community. Cardiovascular health issues have touched those closest to me and I want to be a part of the work that improves their futures.

What issues or policies are you most passionate about and why?

Healthy food access and disparities around cardiovascular health. I am passionate about these issues because their impact is largely decided by income and zip code. Quality access to health care, healthy living and healthy food should be available to everyone!

What is your favorite advocacy memory or experience so far and what made it great?

Seeing people get excited about how they can impact decision making and their elected officials to better their community. People have power!

What is your favorite way to be active?

Long hikes in Minnesota state parks

What is your favorite fruit or vegetable?

Butternut Squash
