Healthy Columbus

The American Heart Association has a healthy obsession with your health. We are supporting efforts in the city to make the healthy choice, the easy choice for all residents, employees and visitors. Healthier lifestyles reduce the risk and burden of heart disease, stroke and diabetes.

Roads Built to Share:

Communities with streets that include bike lanes, sidewalks, crosswalks and curb ramps improve everyone's health by making it easier and safer to be action. These complete streets are proven to increase physical activity and reduce crashes.

Streets built for walking and biking, as well as automobile traffic, encourages families to walk and bicycle and be more active.  And, the more people walk and bike, traffic is reduced and air quality improves. A great win-win!

Restock Our Future:

Often, there are few, if any, healthy food and beverage options in many public places, like parks, recreation centers, libraries, and other city facilities and buildings. Thousands of kids and families visit and work in public places and many of them are trying to eat healthier. They should have healthier food and drink options.

The City of Columbus has made efforts to make streets safer and vending machines healthier. But, there is more work still to do. Add your name in support of both issues on our safer streets petition and healthier vending petition.

Add your name in support of both of these efforts!
