Colorado Needs Quality Physical Education for Our Schools!

Quality Physical Education is an essential building block for our children's lifelong health, wellness, and educational success. Research has shown that regular moderate to vigorous physical activity within quality PE not only boosts academic achievement, but also helps students achieve higher fitness levels, reduces health risks associated with unhealthy weight, and contributes to mental wellness.

HB 1161 provides an opportunity for schools to apply for grant funds to help them implement a quality physical education program and study the positive impacts implementation of the program have on student’s long-term health and academic outcomes.
