Colorado Kids Need Quality Physical Education!

Quality PE is an essential building block for our children's health and educational success. Research shows access to physical activity like that provided in PE class helps our kids in three specific ways: reducing health risks and maintaining a healthy weight, academic achievement, mental wellness.  Sadly, many school districts across Colorado have either eliminated physical education (PE) or drastically cut the time spent by students in PE.

Right now, the Colorado House Appropriations Committee is considering HB 1161, the Comprehensive Physical Education Pilot.

Tell your legislator: We need quality Physical Education in Colorado Schools

HB 1161 provides an opportunity for schools to apply for grant funds to participate in implementing a quality PE program and study its positive impacts on student’s long-term health and academic outcomes.
