After a delicious breakfast and inspiring comments from Kelly Royster, a heart survivor, many advocates took the time to speak to their legislators about Senate Bill 27, the Food Pantry Assistance Grant Program, which provides grants to food banks and pantries in urban, rural and frontier communities across the state of Colorado to supplement these organizations. It also allows for food banks and pantries to carry fresh, nutritious, Colorado-grown produce and meats. SB27 would re-authorize the program at $3 million per year for five years.

Stay tuned for how you can also show your support for SB27 to your legislator.
