Midway through the 2023 Colorado Legislative Session, our priorities are taking different trajectories. One initiative is skyrocketing and could be voted on today, while another is waiting to be addressed.

Many Colorado families face high food costs due to inflation, so it’s vital to maximize all available resources to support them as they access nutritious food.
We need your help to secure more funding for a vital program. Ask your legislator to support an amendment to the state budget to provide an additional $500,000 for the Healthy Food Initiative Fund.
This amendment includes vital funding for Colorado’s SNAP incentive program, Double Up Bucks, bringing extra dollars for produce to SNAP participants. It's matched 1:1 by federal dollars.
Program participants can access healthier foods, like fruits and vegetables, while also supporting our local farmers and markets. It is essential that we continue to support programs that help Coloradans withstand economic challenges, while also contributing to our state and local economies.
Cuts to SNAP have already hit the most vulnerable Coloradans. Funding the Double Up Bucks program will ensure healthy, fresh and local foods are still available to them.
While this could be voted on as early as today, another initiative, the Food Pantry Grant Assistance bill, is stalled waiting on the Senate Appropriations committee to take it up. The bill passed out of its first committee 8-1, but it hasn't been heard in this second committee. We'll continue to update you on this.
