CO Loveland Tobacco 2

Colorado is ground zero for America’s teen nicotine addiction with over a quarter of high schoolers reporting e-cigarette use.  The reality is nearly 1500 kids become new smokers every year.

More than 8 out of 10 of kids who have ever used a tobacco product started by using a flavored one.  At least two thirds of youth tobacco users say they use these products because "they come in a flavor I like."  Bubble Gum, Mint, Cherry - these are just a few of the kid-friendly flavors the tobacco industry is now marketing to Colorado kids.

This coming Tuesday, November 17th, the Loveland City Council will consider an ordinance to end the sale of flavored tobacco products.  This will help eliminate a major source of e-cigarette demand among young people.

Please take a minute to tell the Loveland City Council to make sure all tobacco products are included in the proposed flavor ban ordinance.

At the same time, they will also be considering requiring all tobacco retailers in Loveland to obtain a license.  This would help ensure all tobacco retailers are complying with tobacco laws and helps make sure our kids don't have easy access to tobacco and nicotine.
