Unfortunately, during a recent Senate Agriculture Committee hearing on child nutrition, several senators and one witness made comments opposing science-based nutrition standards. We need your help to ensure they put children first by providing them the healthy foods they need to thrive and make sure that no child goes hungry!

That’s why we are inviting you to participate in our Memorial Day Congressional recess activities. We are asking dedicated YTC advocates like you to request virtual meetings with their U.S. Senators in support of science-based nutrition standards for school meals and making sure that no child goes hungry by supporting Healthy School Meals for All. We recently held an issue training to get advocates up to speed and give a history of the issue. If you want to know more, you can watch the training on our YouTube Channel.

We’ve also created a website with all the information and materials you would need to have successful meetings with your Senators. This includes 10 tips for your meetings, easy to understand talking points and more in-depth policy 1-pagers for you to share during your meetings.

If you have any questions or concerns, please contact David McGoldrick, Federal Grassroots Manager, at [email protected].
