Can you believe this is NOT Maine?

Every so often it is nice to leave Maine and go learn things from "folks from away." Especially when you wake up to a view so beautiful, you can’t believe you aren’t in Maine.

I was lucky enough to be a part of the American Heart Association/American Stroke Association Health Strategies conference in Old Saybrook, CT last week. When Brenda and I arrived, we were whisked into conference rooms to begin sharing and learning with our respective teams from New England, New York and New Jersey (Brenda is Maine’s amazing Communications Director and a great companion for a 4 hour drive). Brenda and I did not get to our rooms until after dark, so I was amazed when I opened my eyes the next morning to this view.

I learned so much during my 2+ days in Connecticut, but my most important take-away: Communicate more often. So those of you who are reading my blogs—get ready for more regular posts. Those of you who get my action alerts—get ready for more frequent updates and actions. Hang on to your hats. I am reinvigorated and inspired. Now, if I can only get Sadie off my desk….
