In Jonesboro, American Heart Association volunteers and staff have been collaborating with "My Healthy Jonesboro" to make a comprehensive smoke-free ordinance part of their community wellness initiatives.  Over the next several weeks, we will be talking with the Mayor and City Council members about the proposed smoke-free ordinance and looking for a bill champion on the City Council.

In Newport, Matt Henry, Community Policy Director with the American Heart Association met with Mayor David Stewart to discuss the possibility of a smoke-free ordinance.  Over the next couple of months Mayor Stewart will work with the American Heart Association to draft a proposal for the ordinance.

In Batesville, American Heart Association volunteers met with Mayor Rick Elumbaugh to discuss the possibility of a smoke-free ordinance.  Mayor Elumbaugh has committed to considering the issue.
