As you know, we have been working alongside our amazing Ohio You're the Cure advocates on legislation that would modernize the current drinking fountain requirement for school buildings by ensuring that newly built schools include water bottle filling stations--a common-sense way to encourage our kids to drink more water. House Bill 360, sponsored by Representatives Brett Hillyer (R-Urichsville) and Erica Crawley (D-Columbus), is still in the House Commerce and Labor Committee where we are expecting a vote in the coming weeks. We will be sure to be in touch when we have more news to share.
We also wanted to take this opportunity to provide resources on how to minimize risk when out and about, stay active, eat healthy and be well when at home. We also hope you'll take a moment to watch Dr. Eduardo Sanchez, Chief Medical Officer for Prevention at the American Heart Association, answer questions many of you may have about COVID-19, particularly for high risk CVD patients.
Please don't hesitate to let us know if you have any questions or need additional information. Stay safe, and thank you for all you do as an incredible American Heart Association You're the Cure advocate!
With Heart,
Dustin Holfinger and Melissa Brown
Your Ohio AHA Advocacy Team
