An Update from the Statehouse

To say that it has been quite a vexing time at the state house would be an understatement.

Governor LePage tweeted, "The Maine state government shutdown is now over. Happy Fourth of July!"

Crisis averted...kind of. 

LePage's proposed plan to cut public public assistance programs and MaineCare was rejected. 

That does not mean we are out of the woods. Why? Well, our Tobacco 21 (LD 1170) bill may die if the legislature cannot fund it.

The work is never done in the Great State of Maine!
