On May 8th, more than fifty advocates traveled to the Rhode Island State House to discuss the importance of raising the sale age for tobacco products (including electronic cigarettes) from 18 to 21. The event was sponsored by the American Heart Association, Tobacco Free Rhode Island, American Lung Association, American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network and Campaign for Tobacco Free Kids.
As part of the Tobacco 21 Advocacy Day program, advocates also unveiled the ‘21+ Reasons’ Gallery that features Rhode Island youth and adults sharing – in their own words – why they support #Tobacco21RI. It was an inspiring day!
Hawaii, California, New Jersey, Maine, and Oregon have raised the sale age for tobacco products to 21 – let’s make sure Rhode Island is next! Join the #Tobacco21RI movement – click here to contact your legislators today: https://act.yourethecure.org/vYrlLhj
