Alabama’s General Fund budget heads to Governor Ivey’s desk for signature.
According to AL.com, "the budget calls for spending $1.85 billion from the General Fund, the same as this year. Most agencies would receive about the same amount as this year.
Budget chairman Steve Clouse, R-Ozark, said the plan reserves $93 million to carry over for 2019 or to use as a contingency against possible changes coming out of Washington that could affect Medicaid and the Children's Health Insurance Program."
The American Heart Association will continue monitoring the state budget, particularly as it impacts healthcare.
