AHA Sweethearts Advocate for CPR in Schools

Despite frigid temperatures and school closures on March 4th 37 AHA Sweethearts joined us for Sweetheart Day at the Capitol.

These high schools sophomores and juniors received an Advocacy training, learned about the CPR in Schools bill, met state leaders like Governor Mary Fallin, and lobbied their elected officials to support CPR in Schools legislation.

AHA Sweethearts make a yearlong volunteer commitment to the American Heart Association and engage in multiple events like the Heart Gala, Heart Walk, Healthy Cooking demonstrations, and CPR trainings.  The annual Day at the Capitol has become a highlight for us and we appreciate their advocacy support!
