This past Saturday, October 21, You’re The Cure Advocates joined with fellow supporters to knock Denver doors and let voters know why they should support the GO Bond. The General Obligation (GO) Bond, will improve city infrastructure in seven key areas.

The American Heart Association is supporting this initiative because of the roughly $71.7 million going to bike lanes and sidewalks. This means, if voters pass the bond on November 7th, Denverites will soon see increased opportunities for physical activity.

Increased physical activity is associated with a substantial reduction in chronic disease, the most common, costly, and preventable of all health problems in our country. Only one in five American adults gets the recommended amount of physical activity. By increasing and improving bike lanes and sidewalks we can help create opportunities for people to get active and get healthy.
