What brought you to be an advocate for the American Heart Association?

In my family I have members who have been directly impacted by Stroke and Heart Disease.

What issues or policies are you most passionate about and why?

I would say policies that address food insecurities, CPR Education in schools and smoking cessation.  I believe in the CPR Education in Schools initiative because in Wisconsin we are adding approximately 50,000 more people per year who are trained in CPR and I believe it does save lives.

What is your favorite advocacy memory or experience so far and what made it great?

Seeing Governor Walker sign the bill that ensured CPR will be taught in all public schools.  Governor Walker even gave me one of the pens he used to sign the bill, which I still have today.

What is your favorite way to be active?

Walking – I love to walk.  I also have a Fitbit where I can track all my steps and activities.  I also enjoy swimming and my peloton bike.

What is your favorite fruit or vegetable?

My favorite would be green beans.
