Advocate Spotlight: Grace Oberholtzer

Grace Oberholtzer is a registered nurse and came to the American Heart Association when she was asked to do so by her Professional Education Committee at Lehigh Valley Hospital.  Her passion for heart disease is very personal. Grace's father had his first heart attack in his 30's and died of a massive MI at 51.  Her youngest son is autistic and when he was five, she became more involved as an advocate with the American Heart Association and currently serves on the Pennsylvania Advocacy Committee as a Field Representative from the 15th Congressional District.

Grace will make the trip to DC for the Rally for Medical Research on April 8th.  She feels that it's very important to meet with her members of Congress and wants to let them know that prevention and education are less expensive than treatment.  She, along with hundreds of others, will be there proudly carrying hearts with the names of fellow advocates who want Congress to prioritize our nation’s investment in medical research.
