On Saturday, October 14th, Washingtonians from all backgrounds joined together for the Puget Sound Heart and Stroke Walk in Seattle. This is the American Heart Association's premier event for raising funds to save lives from this country's No. 1 and No. 5 killers - heart disease and stroke.

Advocacy had a booth where we asked walkers to write postcards to their legislators on a few of the issues that we will discuss with legislators this upcoming legislative session -
- Ending the sale of flavored tobacco products
- Improving Washington State's stroke registry system
- Ensuring that all children have access to free breakfast and lunch at public schools
We also had a game for walkers to play, called Vape or Not? Today's devices are cleverly designed to mimic everyday school supplies. Quite a few walkers were fooled by the vapes that were disguised as highlighters and USBs.
Thank you so much to those who were able to join us and write postcards to your legislators! If you were not able to attend, but you still want to contact your legislator, you can do so through You're the Cure.
