On Monday, Dr. Karen Larimer, incoming Board President for the Chicago Board of Directors and Illinois State Advocacy Committee member, testified at Chicago City Council hearing. She spoke about the need for e-cigarettes to be regulated like regular cigarettes and she advocated to forbid the sale of flavored tobacco within 500 feet of a school.
Outcome: Flavored tobacco ordinance passed, while the e-cigarette ordinance was derailed. This Sun-Times article outlines many of the arguments made by legislators opposing passage during the hearing.
