A Win for Lafayette Kids!

Last week, thanks to a broad coalition of community voices (many of whom were kids!), the Lafayette City Council passed a city ordinance that makes milk or water the default beverage served with kids meals at restaurants.

If you're in Lafayette or know someone who is, please thank your City Council member for making the healthy choice the easy choice for parents and kids.

Soda is too high in sugar for kids, yet it is usually the beverage served with children’s meals. Drinking sodas and other sugary drinks, like energy and sports drinks, is associated with chronic diseases, such as heart disease and diabetes. This ordinance will offer kids healthier options and lay the groundwork for them to grow up to be healthier adults. Please send a quick thank your City Council member!
