A Simple Test Saved a Baby's Life

 

The Nebraska legislature passed a law this year ensuring that all babies born in our state are screened for critical congenital heart defects before they leave to go home from the hospital.  We are grateful that Nebraska legislators joined the growing list of states to pass this life-saving legislation.   In a recent editorial, the parents of a new baby tell their story about how their infant was saved because the state in which the baby was born required a pulse oximetry test on newborns. This non-invasive screening is being credited around the country with saving lives.  For more on this article, CLICK HERE.
