Fighting Childhood Hunger in Utah Through Legislative Action
Hunger affects Utahns from all backgrounds, and no one is as vulnerable as our children. Food insecurity impacts nearly 15% of households with children in Utah, meaning that there is not enough food in the home for every family member to live a healthy life. No student should go hungry while trying to learn, and mounting school meal debt adds to the struggles many families face today.
The American Heart Association, Utahns Against Hunger, and the Utah PTA invite you to join the effort to ensure more Utah public school students have permanent access to healthy school meals at no cost to families. Join us to learn more about the legislative effort to address childhood food insecurity through expanding no-cost meals. We’ll discuss childhood hunger, the solutions being offered, and how you can help.
Together we can lift our children out of hunger at school. With current health standards, school meals continue to be the healthiest option for students. School meal programs ensure all students can thrive, grow and learn by making sure they aren’t hungry.
The Utah Legislature has the opportunity to help families struggling with inflation with food security, and we need your help. RSVP here to join this event to learn more and participate in this effort.
