For a gut-wrenching year, Mark Matasic cared for his dad after a severe brain stem stroke left him completely paralyzed. After his father passed, Mark turned his grief to action and became an advocate for stroke victims across the state to get the care they need as quickly as possible. Hear more of Mark's story here.

Mark's mission to improve stroke care across the Buckeye State has included writing to lawmakers, submitting letters-to-the-editor and even providing testimony before lawmakers as critical stroke legislation was being considered.

According to Mark, "My dad is proof that all states need to take action like Ohio has to make sure patients get to the right place at the right time. I hope other states will follow suit so other families can avoid the devastation that mine has experienced. All patients deserve the chance to survive and thrive after stroke."

Thank you, Mark, for all you've done to help improve care for all Ohio stroke patients!
